Certified Organic
We certify our pastures, hay, and corn with MOSA. We wholeheartedly believe in the organics movement and in producing the cleanest food possible. In fact, our animals eat only certified organic feed. They never receive any steroids, antibiotics, medication, or hormones. And our processed meats are made with organic spices. Without a doubt, our products would meet the organic standards. Our choice to not certify our products comes down to the cost savings which keeps our premium, organically raised meat at a more affordable price. To be certified organic, each animal must be individually registered and certified. That comes with a cost, which we would have to pass on to the consumer. Instead, we would rather spend our time showing you around the farm, answering your questions, and of course farming. But this is the beauty of knowing your local farmer! We can show you that the food you purchase from us is organically raised and the healthiest you can find! While an organic certification is a terrific thing to have and necessary in cases where farmers don’t have the opportunity to know their customers, we choose to bypass this step and foster a sense of community by developing direct relationships built on trust with our customers. |
