100% Grassfed & Finished

Our beef eat green growing grass from our certified organic pastures during the summer months and our certified organic hay during the winter. We raise Angus cattle for their abilty to thrive and fatten on a diet of only grass. We never feed grains of any kind. Our cattle are not just 100% grass fed and finished but they are also grass fat which results in beautifully marbled, healthy, tender meat!

Pastured

Animals belong outside on the land. Our animals are raised as God intended on the ground and allowed to live according to their nature i.e. pigs wallow and root and chickens scratch and dust bathe, etc.

Antibiotic & Hormone Free

No antiobiotics or hormones in our meat. If an animal is sick and needs intervention we always turn to natural remedies. However, if an animal is suffering, and needs antibiotics we will separate it from the herd and sell it at auction and never to our customers.

Organically Raised

We wholeheartedly believe in the organics movement and in producing the cleanest food possible. In fact, our animals eat only certified organic feed. They never receive any steroids, antibiotics, medication, or hormones. And our processed meats are made with organic spices. To be certified organic, each animal must be individually registered and certified. That comes with a cost, which we would have to pass on to the consumer. Therefore we use the term "organically raised" to mean raised to meet or exceed the organic standard without the certification.

Certified Organic

We certify our pastures, hay, and corn with MOSA. We wholeheartedly believe in the organics movement and in producing the cleanest food possible. In fact, our animals eat only certified organic feed. They never receive any steroids, antibiotics, medication, or hormones. And our processed meats are made with organic spices. Without a doubt, our products would meet the organic standards. Our choice to not certify our products comes down to the cost savings which keeps our premium, organically raised meat at a more affordable price. To be certified organic, each animal must be individually registered and certified. That comes with a cost, which we would have to pass on to the consumer.

Instead, we would rather spend our time showing you around the farm, answering your questions, and of course farming. But this is the beauty of knowing your local farmer! We can show you that the food you purchase from us is organically raised and the healthiest you can find! While an organic certification is a terrific thing to have and necessary in cases where farmers don’t have the opportunity to know their customers, we choose to bypass this step and foster a sense of community by developing direct relationships built on trust with our customers.

Rotationally Grazed

We move the animals every day for the greatest benefit to the land and the animals. This way there is an even spread of manure returned to the pasture and the cattle always have fresh grass. Rotational grazing builds the organic matter in the soil and helps prevent erosion in the hilly Driftless region. It is an amazing cycle where manure feeds the soil that grows the grass that nourishes the cattle. Health starts in the soil.

Uncured

Regenerative Agriculture

Regenerative agriculture is a way to build the health of the soil β€” and ultimately entire farms and ranches β€” by tapping into nature's natural processes. Learning to work with nature, rather than against it, will benefit us all in the end: the soil, water, air, plants, animals and people. - Noble Research Institute
